Outlay is built to work entirely on your device. No account, no linked bank or card, no ads, no tracking. This policy is short because there isn't much to say: we don't collect, transmit, or store any of your data anywhere but your own phone.

What the app stores

Everything you enter, transactions (amount, category, date, description), your own categories, any quick-add templates, and any budgets you set, is written to storage local to your device only, whether that's on-device storage on iOS and Android, or your browser's local storage if you're using the web version. It never leaves the device. We have no server, so there is nowhere for it to go.

What we don't do

We don't ask you to create an account or sign in.
We don't ask you to link a bank account or card.
We don't use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
We don't show ads.
We don't make any network requests from the app.
We don't sell or share your data, and we couldn't if we wanted to, since we never receive it.

Your data, your control

Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data with it. There's no account to close and no server-side copy to request the removal of, since none exists.

Children's privacy

Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect information from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this app ever changes to collect data or add network features, this page will be updated first, along with the effective date above.
